We want to see a world where everyone can breathe clean air with healthy lungs. To achieve this we need the right policies in place from the government, the NHS and other healthcare bodies.
We aim to prevent lung disease by campaigning for positive change in the UK's lung health. We're raising awareness about lung disease, the dangers that cause it, and how to look after your lungs.
Across the UK air pollution is at lethal levels and too little is being done to tackle it. We’re calling on the government to publish plans to say how they’re going to keep us safe.
Lockdown had an enormous impact on the care of people with lung disease. We’re working to make sure that people with lung disease are at the heart of any plans to restore healthcare services post-COVID.
Taskforce for lung health
We organise the Taskforce for Lung Health, a coalition of 30 organisations and individuals who care about respiratory health. Together, we’re fighting for quick and accurate diagnosis, better medicines management, and access to pulmonary rehabilitation.
Making lung health a priority
In 2019, we launched an open letter to the prime minister to make lung health a priority and NHS England chose respiratory as a priority area in their long-term plan for the first time.
Our research shows that not enough healthcare professionals are trained to help people quit smoking. We’ve been working to improve access to stop smoking service.
